Swiss Academy of Marketing Science Award

Urs Riedener received the “Swiss Academy of Marketing Science Award 2015” for his exemplary support of academic marketing teaching and research at Swiss universities as well as his commitment to spreading the idea of marketing to the public.

After graduating from the University of St. Gallen, his career led Urs Riedener to various marketing and management positions at well-known companies such as Kraft Jacobs Suchard, Lindt & Sprüngli Group and Migros. Today, he is CEO of the leading Swiss company, Emmi, which recorded sales of 3.3 billion Swiss francs last year.

However, Urs Riedener is not only a successful and prominent figure in business practice, but also often and gladly puts his knowledge and experience as a marketing executive, as well as his enthusiasm for marketing, at the service of marketing education at Swiss universities as a guest lecturer or speaker. In addition, he is always involved in various research projects. Last but not least, it should be mentioned that for many years he has helped shape the development of the Institute of Marketing at the University of St. Gallen as a member of the executive committee. Urs Riedener was nominated and elected by the board of the Swiss Academy of Marketing Science.

Rigour & Relevance Research Award

For the article “Product Customization via Starting Solutions”, published in 2014 in the highly renowned scientific journal “Journal of Marketing Research, Dr. Christian Hildebrand, together with Gerald Häubl and Andreas Herrmann, receives the Rigour & Relevance Research Award 2015.

The extreme sportsman is project manager at the Center for Customer Insight (FCI) at the University of St. Gallen where he completed his post-doctoral studies this year. Dr. Christian Hildebrand was chosen by the practitioner jury, who evaluated a selection of scientific contributions in terms of their practical relevance.
